Subject: MakeTeXPK and PostScript fonts
Many of our users are using the PostScript style options (e.g., times.sty).
I installed the psfonts.tar.gz file (containing .pk files for the
PostScript fonts) from CTAN:tex-archive/fonts/psfonts. However, this file
does not contain bitmaps for large fonts (e.g., for headlines, etc.). So,
when they start xdvi, xdvi starts MakeTeXPK and waits for it to fail. This
takes a long time.
Is there a way to prevent MakeTeXPK from calling mf for PostScript fonts?
